How does the Ashes series compare with its predecessor?
It’s an extraordinary series, a unique story in the history of Australian cricket and the world, the best of all time.
But how does it compare with the series that preceded it?
The Ashes were a colossal failure.
It was a disaster.
There were no big stars, no marquee stars and no grand slam tournaments.
It ended in defeat, as it has been since.
It was a spectacular success in its own right, with a series that was never meant to last but that was so good, so captivating, so thrilling.
What we need to know in the Ashes Test series openerThe Ashes was a great series of cricket, but it was a total disaster from start to finish.
What were the key takeaways from the series?
Here are the key things that you need to understand in the series opener:What was it like watching the series as it unfolded?
It was fantastic.
I was in awe of the players.
You could see that it was very intense.
I watched the match in the living room, the television was on, so I could be a part of it.
There was a lot of excitement and it was exciting.
The whole series had a lot to do with the format.
It felt like it was the biggest cricket series in the world at the time.
The crowds were unbelievable.
The crowd was huge.
I remember walking out of the ground and seeing all these people, and thinking ‘what the hell is going on here?’.
I went to see the players at the end and I think I saw about 50, 60 people there.
The last five or six innings were so big.
The audience was incredible.
What did the players think?
It is always hard to judge a player in terms of how they would react to a given situation, but one thing that stood out was that they seemed really happy.
They were quite happy, which is always a good sign.
What was the reaction of the team in the middle?
I think a lot was down to their management.
There was a sense of inevitability and it certainly was an opportunity for them to show what they were capable of.
There wasn’t much in the way of competition, and the team didn’t have much in terms the preparation for the series.
But that didn’t stop them going out there and playing as hard as they could.
What is the key to understanding the series so far?
The series has a great storyline.
You’re watching a team come into this competition with a lot on the line and they are coming out of it with a massive amount of confidence and belief in themselves.
The series opener is a great example of that.
They had a great start and then they showed their class in the final, with their captain and some of their stars.
What you’re seeing is a lot more than just their individual skills.
They’re playing the whole game, they’re playing well together, they have an enormous amount of skill.
What’s remarkable about this series is that they have been able to keep themselves going for so long.
It’s a very different kind of game to the one that you see on TV, in the Test format.
There are a lot fewer players in the field and they’re not using a lot the ball.
So the game is a little bit more in their hands and they’ve got to have that confidence.
It’s really exciting.
They have the talent to make it work, and it’s very difficult.
What are the players looking forward to?
They’ve got a really good squad, so they have to focus on what they’re capable of doing and what they can control.
That is something they haven’t been able do this series.
The players are ready for anything and they can make it happen.
What they have shown in the past has been fantastic.
They’ve shown in this series that they can bowl all over the field.
They’ve shown that they’ve bowled good in Australia and the World Cup.
They are bowling really good, which has been important in this Ashes series.
They can bowl hard and they don’t want to get caught.
They don’t get caught because they know how good they are and how fast they are.
What we’ve seen so far has been really good for them.
What can we expect in the next series?
There is a real chance that they will have a better World Cup team and they will be able to make a really strong showing.
That’s the real thing.
They’ll be back at the top of the world in the summer.
What will they be able do?
They are really focused on what’s at hand, whether that’s winning or not winning, and that’s why they are able to perform so well.
I’m sure there will be a lot going on.
I know that the Australian cricket community is really excited about the series, and they know that they are going to be in the finals.
It is going to go all the way.
What do you think the fans are going out to see?Well,
