Broncos LB Jordan Norwood suspended one game for targeting refs
Denver Broncos LB/DE Jordan Norwoods one game suspension has been handed down for targeting officials during the game against the Carolina Panthers.
The league announced the punishment on Monday night.
Denver was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and then a second-quarter tackle by Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
He was fined $2,875 and placed on the reserve/retired list for the remainder of the season.
The NFL said the tackle was the result of the league not being able to review video of the play.
Denver also was penalized for offensive pass interference.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera tweeted that Norwood had been fined and suspended the first three games of the year, and then suspended the remainder for the season following the first flag.
The Broncos are currently on bye and will have their bye the following week.
Norwood was a sixth-round draft pick by the Chiefs in 2018.
